An Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) is a rating system that assesses a property’s prospective energy efficiency and carbon dioxide emissions. These numbers are computed by extrapolating the energy efficiency and carbon dioxide emissions that would result from implementing energy-saving measures.

When examining an EPC, keep in mind that the rating uses a grade system ranging from “A” to “G” to determine how energy and carbon emission efficient your home is. ‘G’ represents the least efficiency and ‘A’ the highest level of efficiency. Since the formulas used to quantify each property are the same, you may compare the energy efficiency of various properties.

An energy performance certificate (EPC) comes with a suggestion report that outlines steps you may take to lower the energy consumption and carbon dioxide emissions of your home. The EPC report outlines recommended upgrades, including double glazing and insulation, and then estimates the annual cost savings that might be achieved. The energy and carbon emission rating of the property will also be altered by the suggestions, as shown by the EPC.
